Re-conditional stay
We see the re-conditional stay as an integral part of DEMOSTHENA services. It allowed the centre workers to have an intensive contact with the parents and so observe the real interaction between the parent and the child at the normal daily activities. It is supposed for the families with handicapped children or children whose development is in danger first of all from the day centre stay or from specialist's ambulances. The program is established exactly and the parent co-works with the child intensively. There are lectures of the particular specialists as a part of the stay. The parents are in a position to ask the questions which can't normally be answered in the doctor's surgery because of the time shortage or because the atmosphere isn't appropriate for it. The parents can discuss their fears of the future with the professionals as well. The lectures increase the parent's knowing and it helps them at the practical work with the child and the care of it. They can benefit from the contact with other families with handicapped children. They can change their experience, information and ideas. The part of the re-conditional stay is among other hippo therapy and therapy dogs as well or amusing program for children and their parents.
