Therapeutic physiotherapy - clinical psychology
It is a part of our non state-owned sanitary facility.
The subject is the individual's psychic in his development and social background context. The norm and pathology aspect are emphasized.
It is concerned with psycho-diagnostic, psychotherapy, regime therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, research and description:
- psycho-diagnostic is related to the development, individual and family system
- psychotherapy proceeds individual, in group or family therapy form
There are many diagnoses in the individual's care. Some of them depend on current individual's development level:
- neuroses, neurotic illnesses, adaptation disorders
- psychoses, psychotic illnesses
- affective disorders
- psychosomatic illnesses
- food intake disorders
- personality disorders
- mental retardation
- speech, language and school skill developmental disorders (specific learning disorders)
- pervasive developmental disorders
- activity and attention disorders
- behavior disorders
- organic disorders, including symptomatic
- disorders caused by psychoactive substances
It cooperates with the sanitary branches (first of all, with psychiatry, neurology and clinical logopedics; within somatic medicine facilities with all branches where the psychic component is an inconsiderable part of disorder or illness) and the non medical branches (first of all, with pedagogical and school psychology, special pedagogy, pedagogy).
The diagnostic activity is an operation, procedure and technique complex aimed at diagnoses determination (individual's psychic condition), it is based on a particular aim that can be:
- development level determination
- finding out the reason for an anomaly development based on the age norm
- finding out the individual differences of the personality
- finding out the conditions and reasons for the individual differences
- prognosis or prediction
The psycho-diagnostic method classification:
1. Clinical methods:
- an observation - it's the most natural method, we distinguish the free methods (orientation) and aimed methods (systematic, controlled)
- an interview - it's a natural method as well, there are more interview types based on the aim: diagnostic, therapeutic, anamnesis, researching, counseling and selective interview; it can be guided or unorganized according to the diagnostic form
- Anamnesis (Greek word anamnésis - reminiscence) - finding out the individual's past experience data that are important to the personality recognition. The aim is to get and categorize the relevant past data which help to explain the current condition.
- Analyze of spontaneous activity products - e.g. spontaneous paintings, poems, another literature activities, non-professional products from different areas.
2. Test methods:
- performance tests - intelligence, special abilities and particular psychic functions
- personality tests
In clinical psychology the therapy is a therapeutic incidence by the help of the psychological assets which should remove or reduce the problems, and if possible to remove its reasons. The client's behavior changes during the therapy.
- The qualified person practices the psychotherapy. Each physician or psychologist can do the supportive psychotherapy.
- The psychotherapist with attestation and psychotherapy training practices the systematic psychotherapy.
- The therapist who has been trained yet works under the supervision control of a professional.
- There are more types of the psychotherapy (e.g. symptomatic - based on the symptom, causal - it tries to find out and remove the reason, individual, group and family psychotherapy) and there are some methods which are used (e.g. rational, relaxation, suggestive, psychoanalytic and interpersonal).
The clinical psychologist is college educated sanitary worker who gets his specialization alike a physician. He passes specialized training of post-gradual education which is closed with an attestation. The clinical psychologist can become only the Master's degree graduate of psychology. He is an equivalent physician's partner according to the valid legislature. He is one of the direct health care providers, whereas he provides the care which is provided by health insurance companies on account of physician's recommendation. In case of the mental depression or trauma he can work without this recommendation as well. He works under the professional supervision of entrusted clinical logopedics therapist within his training period.
