Pedagogical physiotherapy - special-pedagogical centre
The special-pedagogical centers (SPC) started to develop in 90.years as equivalent workplaces to the pedagogical-psychological (PPC) clinics. In contrary to the PPC the SPC are always concerned with the concrete health handicap. In Czech they are allocated to some special schools, both state and non-state. Therefore there are state and less non-state special-pedagogical centers.
In non-state DEMOSTHENA there is SPC as counseling service for hearing and eye sight handicapped from 3 till 18 years old, for their parents and schools. We work in whole Usti-area. However, the family or school can look for the counseling and care in another locality as well. The place of residence of our client isn't limited as well.
Following the specialist physicians conclusions - phoniatrics specialist or Otorinolaryngology specialist and others - and in case of clinical speech therapist and psychologist examination existence - the SPC provides a special-pedagogical diagnostic of surdopedics specialist and ophthalmology specialists and psychological diagnostic. The SPC diagnostic is the record of appropriate education forms suggesting, that means appropriate integration at normal schools together with appropriate condition providing or at special schools.
The diagnostic is the base for specialist therapy as well, whether from DEMOSTHENA or out of the complex care centre or other proficiencies. The SPC chooses and borrows compensation and didactical tools (including schools which the SPC provides by methodical activity) sometimes.
The SPC provides their clients orientation in social-legal counseling for health handicapped people as well and it helps them in cooperation with health insurance companies and others. All these circumstances make our care complex.
